Butler Rose Public Practice is pleased to support our client, a top accounting firm with fantastic offices based in Walsall, in their search for an ambitious AAT and/or ACCA part-qualified Accounts Semi-Senior to join their award-winning business services department.
Role Responsibilities:
* Prepare monthly management accounts and year-end statutory financial statements in accordance with FRS102-1A, including consolidated accounts, from both manual and computerised accounting records.
* Prepare and review VAT returns, with a solid understanding of partial exemption rules.
* Delegate, supervise, and review the work of junior team members, providing constructive feedback and support as necessary.
* Assist clients with general accounting services, including preparing working papers for management or statutory accounts.
* Recommend improvements to clients' accounting systems and controls, offering support when required.
* Keep Managers and Partners informed of job progress and updates.
Candidate Requirements:
* AAT and/or ACCA part-qualified, with at least 3 years of experience in a similar semi-senior/trainee accountant role at a prominent UK-based accounting firm.
* Strong experience in year-end statutory accounts production, management accounts, and VAT returns.
* Knowledge of UK GAAP, specifically FRS102 and FRS105.
* Strong academic background with at least 120 UCAS points at A-Level and GCSEs (Maths & English at grade B/5+).
* Excellent communication skills with the confidence to meet clients face-to-face.
