Introduction
Butler Rose are delighted to represent this successful and busy firm with a network of offices across the North who due to continued business expansion are seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Administrator to join their Kendal office team.
This role can actually be based at any of their office locations across the region and offers a responsible role for an experienced and capable payroll professional with full end to end payroll processing expertise.
You will be joining at an exciting time due to business growth and be part of a friendly and supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and process multiple interval payrolls via SAGE payroll system
* Deal with PAYE, NI and RTI submissions
* HMRC liaison
* Pensions/auto enrolment
* Deal with starters/leavers, tax code changes and attachment of earnings
* Process maternity/paternity leave calculations and statutory payments and deductions
* Undertake checks to ensure the integrity of the payroll processing system
* Process payments to employees, HMRC, pension providers and external parties
* Prepare and submission of monthly and annual returns to HMRC
* Deal with payroll enquiries
* Maintain up to date guidance notes on payroll procedures, working closely with IT regarding any payroll system upgrades
* Ensure audit records are maintained and provide payroll reports as required
Person Specification
* Previous experience within a similar full end to end payroll processing role dealing with multiple interval payrolls on a weekly, fortnightly, four weekly and monthly basis in a fast moving environment ideally familiar with SAGE (training will be provided)
*
* Experience of running both small and large volume payrolls weekly/fortnightly/four weekly and monthly from start to finish
* Detailed knowledge of payroll systems, taxation and national insurance/pension administration
* Highly numerate able to process a variety of standard calculations
* Knowledge of Word and Excel is desirable
*
* Great attention to detail and confident with client communication both written and over the telephone
* Proactive and client focused
