Job description
Butler Rose is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client, a business in the Newton Abbot area who have a current requirement for a Purchasing Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for either a skilled administrator ready to take the next step in their career, or a purchasing professional looking for a new challenge, to join a dynamic team and play a key role in supporting the procurement function within a thriving organisation.

The Role:
Reporting to the Procurement Lead, you will be a strong communicator with a proactive and positive attitude, fitting seamlessly into the on-site team. Attention to detail is essential, as you will assist in all aspects of procurement and administrative functions to ensure smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assist the Procurement team in sourcing and purchasing goods and services aligned with business needs.
* Develop and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues and suppliers.
* Ensure all procurement processes comply with the business management system.
* Process purchase orders efficiently, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
* Monitor stock shortages and adjust stock levels accordingly.
* Investigate open orders to ensure delivery dates align with sales order requirements.
* Conduct research into new products and services to support the company's strategic goals.
* Support the management and reduction of the supplier list where possible.
* Coordinate with the quality department to manage supplier stock returns.
* Maintain supplier relationships to secure the best pricing and service levels.
* Work closely with key employees to fulfil product and service requirements.
* Collaborate with the Data and Pricing Specialist to reduce provision stock levels in line with company targets.

To be chosen for the role you must possess the following skills/experience

* Experience in administration or purchasing
* Well organised and with an eye for detail
* Good communication and teamwork skills

Package

* Salary up to £27,000 + benefits package
* Permanent full time role
* Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5pm
